55 people under Observation: No cases of COVID-19 reported in Assam
55 people who have returned from China are being kept under observation by the State Department of Health in order to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus also known as COVID-19.
Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in the State Assembly in the budget session on Tuesday said that amongst those 55 people kept under observation, 46 have completed the 28 day observation on 24 February. The remaining 9 are still being kept under observation in home quarantine for the incubation period.
The Deputy Commissioners of all districts, Principals of all Government Medical Colleges and Joint Direct of Health Services of all districts have been alerted and actions are to taken to spread awareness among the people.
The depart in collaboration with Panchayat and Rural Development Department and Education department has organised 75 Gram Sabha meetings in the bordering districts of the state with regard to COVID-19.
No cases of the virus has been detected so far and strict measures are being carried out by the government.
