60 Lakh Looted from PNB Bank In Nalbari
On Friday, in Assam Nalbari district, at the branch of Punjab National Bank (PNB), armed assailants looted Rs 60 lakhs.
As reported, the incident took place in the bank, Amayapur Jagyabhumi at broad daylight when four armed bikers wearing masks and helmets took in charge and looted the bank money at gunpoint.
As the miscreants were fleeing the spot, they opened fire leading to the critical injury of one person named Nayan Das. He was immediately rushed to the Nalbari Civil Hospital.
Nayan Das got shot in the leg, later he was referred to Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH), where he is undergoing treatment.
Amanjit Kaur, the Superintendent of Police, stated that from the spot three blank cartridges were recovered and a massive search operation has been launched to catch the culprits as soon as possible.
“As per the initial investigation, at least four robbers came in motorbikes and entered the branch. They cornered the branch manager and took the cash from him before fleeing,” said Amanjit Kaur
He adds, “Our investigations are underway. We have found certain leads and are working on them. Hopefully, the persons involved in the robbery will be nabbed soon.”
