Bars and Clubs in Guwahati closed till March 31 by order
The Assam government has ordered the ‘Bars and Pubs’ in Guwahati to be closed till 31st of March.
Previously the Assam Government had ordered the closure of schools, colleges, parks, zoos, gymnasiums over the State due to the coronavirus pandemic as a precautionary measure to prevent the possibility of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
Although there are no confirmed positive cases of the coronavirus so far, the Assam government has been at a standstill taking all necessary preventive measures.
The chief secrtetary Kumar Sanjay Krishna said, “There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Assam so far. But all schools, colleges, cinema halls, gyms, swimming polls will remain closed till March 29 as a precautionary measure. All exams except those of CBSE and SEBA (State Board) have been postponed too.”
In districts such as Sivasagar, spiritual gatherings at the namghars, Vaishnavite prayer halls has been banned by the authorities.
The government has also advised against the gathering of more than 50 people.
