Breaking – Guwahati will host 3 IPL Matches this year
Good news for the cricket lovers of North-East India, Guwahati is going to host three Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in the coming season of the tournament. Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the news. “I had a brief discussion with Jay Shah, secretary of the BCCI, and he assured me that three IPL matches are definitely going to take place in Guwahati.,” stated Mr Sharma, who attended the Dwijing festival in Chirang.
According to the Chief Minister, the secretary of BCCI, Jay Shah, assured him that three IPL matches in its 2020 edition would be arranged at Guwahati. No doubt, it’s excellent news for North-East India cricket fans as they will get to watch the matches live from the stadium.
Earlier in November, Rajasthan Royals co-owner Manoj Bedale was addressing the media at Barsapara Assam Cricket Association (ACA) stadium. There he said, “As per the IPL governing council, Rajasthan Royals will play at least two matches here in this wonderful stadium next year.”
The cash-rich tournament, IPL, is usually organized by BCCI in April and May of every year, representing eight different cities in India. Last Sunday, India Vs. Sri Lanka’s opening T20 match, scheduled to play at the Barsapara cricket stadium, was dismissed due to heavy raining. Today, India and Sri Lanka will face each other for the 2nd T20I in Indore at the Holkar stadium.
