Dipanjal Das, Anti-CAB Protester dies after suffering bullet wounds
Dipanjal Das, a youth from Chaigaon, who worked at the canteen of Sainik Bhawan on Rajgarh Road and came to take part in the ongoing Anti-CAB protests, has died from bullet wounds earlier this evening.
Dipanjal was admitted to GMCH after receving a bullet wound in his abdomen after security forces opened fire at protesters in the Lachit Nagar area of the city.
This is the third reported death of people taking part in the protest.
Another unknown guy succumbed to bullet injuries in the Hatigaon area of the city.
Guwahati has seen large scale protests opposing the bill, which was passed in parliament yesterday. The government has imposed curfew in the city and has cut off mobile internet.
Defying the odds, thousands of protesters came out in the streets to oppose the bill, which they claim to be unconstitutional.
