MBBS & BDS reservation for Children of Covid Warriors

Children COVID warriors will get a reservation in MBBS and BDS courses; this initiative has been taken up to honour the sacrifices made them. Meanwhile, the reserved number of seats are yet to be disclosed.

Parents who have been tirelessly fighting back the pandemic situation at the forefront will now be receiving reservation in undergraduate courses for their children which also includes MBBS and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery).

Harsh Vardhan, Union Health Minister mentions that the reservation provided in the described courses will be applicable in the session of 2020-21 under the central quota.

Mr. Vardhan stated, “This will honour the solemn sacrifice of all COVID warriors who served with selfless dedication.”

The Medical Council Committee (MCC) via the online application process will determine the selection of candidates, based on their rank in NEET 2020.

Universities like Chandigarh University will also offer a 10% quota or reservation for children of ‘COVID warriors’ along with an additional fee rebate of 10%. Whereas, Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagawara, is granting free education for children of frontline workers and those affected by the coronavirus.

Also, for spouses and children of ‘terror attack’ victims, the government has approved reservation for both MBBS and BDS courses.
