Super 30 fame Anand Kumar To Appear Before Guwahati High Court
On November 19, 2019, the Guahati High court sent a notice to ‘Super 30’ fame mathematician Anand Kumar to appear at the court before 26 November 2019 concerning a PIL filed by 4 IIT-Guwahati students.
‘If Kumar fails to appear, a bailable warrant will be issued against him’, mentioned chief justice Ajay Lamba and justice AM Bujarbaruah of Gauhati High court.
It has been reported by the IIT students that Anand Kumar did not reveal the names of 26 students who he had asserted to had qualified in the IIT entrance examination in 2018 from his Super-30 institute.
The legal counsel of the students, Amit Goyal said, Anand Kumar has not responded to the charges made by them as directed by the court on 21 September, 2018.
The IIT students also alleged that Kumar in the past years has been projecting a fake image of himself as the ‘messiah’ of the poor IIT aspirants by manipulating and publishing false results; misusing decent innocent aspirants and their guardians.
In the PIL, the 4 IIT students claims that a huge number of students from every corner of India approach Anand Kumar with a sole hope that he would help and guide them to clear the IIT entance examination.
“However, Kumar instead enrols the students of his coaching institute Ramanujan School of Mathematics by charging a huge amount of about Rs 33, 000,” stated the students
Also mentioned in the PIL that Kumar is not running any of the “so-called” Super 30 classes. Whenever IIT results are announced, Kumar appears before the media along with some students of Ramanujam School of Mathematics and other students and claims that they are Super 30 students and have qualified in the IIT entrance exam, it states.
It may be noted that on 12 July 2019, Anand Kumar’s Biopic titled ‘Super 30’ starring Hritik was released.
