Three Girls Found Unconscious in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao
On the evening of February 17 three girls were found lying unconscious in their field in a village in Unnao district. The police report declared two of them to be brought dead at the district hospital while one was hospitalized in a critical condition at a a Kanpur hospital.
Police report showed that froth was found coming out of the girls’ mouths which gave a clear indication of them being poisoned. The bodies of the two girls have been sent for post-mortem.
The three girls were aged 13,16 and 17 and the girls belonging to Baburaha village, had been out in their field to cut grass on Wednesday afternoon.
The family went out looking for them after they failed to return in the evening. For their shock they found them tied up with the dupattas unconscious in the field.
It seems that all the three victims were related as the oldest victim is a relative of the two other girls and they all belong to the same family.
Anand Kulkarni, Superintendent of Police, Unnao said, “Prima facie they show symptoms of poisoning.”
The SP assured that investigation have already begun and have stated that there were no visible injury marks on the bodies of the girls.
Police are waiting for the post-mortem reports to know the cause of death.
The police have deployed six teams to investigate the case. They are also attempting to reconstruct the crime scene and will interrogate the villagers.
There has been two statements regarding the case where the SP added that the police team who have reached the field first have stated that the bodies were not found tied with no impression on the legs and hands.
IG Lucknow, Laxmi Singh, and senior police officers were also on the spot. The crime scene has been sealed for forensic experts.
The police have clearly done extra efforts where sniffer dogs squad have been called to the spot.
The members of the family have said, “Why would the girls tie their own hands and feet if they were committing suicide? It is a clear case of murder.”
Samajwadi Party MLC Sunil Singh Sajan has called out the Unnao police of trying to bury the case. He requested for an independent agency to investigate the case.
