UAE Bans Flights From India Midst the Surge in COVID-19 Cases
The travel ban has been announced for 10 days which will come into effect from 11.59 pm on Saturday, April 24.
Further reports discloses that the passengers who have transited through India in the past 14 days are instructed by the UAE government as for to not get permitted onboard for entry into the UAE.
The departure flights however will resume and the ban will not extend to UAE citizens, diplomatic passport holders, and official delegations, the report stated.
The Chairman of the Eastern Region, Travel Agents’ Federation of India Anil Punjabi said that the travel agents of India received this notification from the Emirates.
Soon Canada will also ban passenger flights from India for the next 30 days. On Monday the UK declared India to be on the COVID-19 travel “red list” which bans all travel from the country making a 10-day hotel quarantine compulsory for UK residents arriving back to their country. The other countries to have imposed a travel ban in India are Oman, Pakistan, Hong Kong, France, and Kuwait.
